CIR Research Program
Wayne R. Ferren Jr. heads our newly formed Research Program,
expanding the scope of CIR to include a broad array of
Wayne brings over 40 years of experience with institutional,
non-profit and for-profit botanical, ecological, and environmental
projects. At CIR Wayne
oversees research elements of restoration projects, environmental
monitoring, and field experiments. He oversees project design;
manages the production of technical reports; manages project
permitting; and assists with marketing and business development.
Wayne also assists with the development and execution of the
Education Program including lectures and field trips.
Wayne’s technical focus includes restoration ecology, wetland
ecology, plant sciences, and environmental review and planning.
Wayne has demonstrated extensive expertise in environmental and
programmatic management and oversight, and he has authored over 90
technical papers, reports, and chapters, provided numerous classes,
workshops, and presentations
We are very excited that Wayne has joined our team, and we look
forward to the broad expertise he will bring to CIR.
